ETHIOPIAN PROJECT “MOVING TOWARDS THE MILLENNIUM” 2005-07

Respo International co-operates with DIR and Windesheim, School of Human Movement & Sports on the three-years-project “Moving Towards the Millennium”. With this ambitious project, Respo helps to give people with a disability in Ethiopia perspective in life, and let them enjoy the process. Sports and movement activities offer these people a chance to explore their own capabilities and show them to others. 

 

Respo helps local schools and centres for the disabled to organise a variety of activities surrounding the Ethiopian millennium, which occurs in 2007. During the project five teams, each consisting of six students and 3 expert volunteers, travel to Ethiopia to organise these activities. The student groups stay for four months, the experts to Ethiopia twice a year to support the students and the local initiatives.
